Lankan Style Pizzas

Ingredients

       Chicken pizza :
 

  • Pre-made pizza base or pizza dough. 

  • Chicken thighs or chicken breast meat 

  • Barbecue sauce

  • Onions 

  • Soft brown sugar

  • Salt 

  • Pepper

  • Tomato based pizza sauce 

  • Garlic powder 

  • Araliya chilli paste 

  • Araliya curry powder 

  • Butter 

  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Araliya chilli flakes ( to garnish before serving) 


    Vegetarian pizza: 
     

  • Pre-made pizza base or pizza dough. 

  • Butter 

  • Tomato based pizza sauce 

  • Araliya Seeni sambol 

  • Araliya mango chutney 

  • Boccini cheese 

  • Capsicum 

  • Spinach leaves 

  • Shredded mozzarella cheese 

  • Olive oil

  • Araliya chilli flakes ( to garnish before serving)

Preparation

Pizza recipe
 

1. Get either pre-made pizza base or dough. 

Chicken pizza: 

2. Prepare caramelised onion . a) Dice about 2 onions for one regular pizza. Sauté the onions in butter and cover on Low heat until they turn slightly brown. b) Then add about 2 tablespoons of soft brown sugar ( either directly or dissolved in water) to the onions.  c)Sauté for about 2 mins and turn the heat off. 
 

3. Prepare the  barbecue chicken. a) cut some chicken thighs or chicken breast  into small chunks , use more chicken for a chunkier pizza or less chicken depending on preference. b) cook the chicken on medium heat and cover pan without any oil or butter to release all the water from the chicken. c) drain all water away once chicken is cooked d) then add some garlic powder, some araliya chill paste, some araliya curry powder and salt and pepper . e) add some barbecue sauce . f) sauté the chicken and finally mix the chicken with the earlier prepared caramelised onions .
 

4. Assemble the pizza. a)Start with buttering the pizza base. b) Following that add tomato based pizza sauce. c) Next layer the pizza with the caramelised onion and barbecue chicken topping. d) Finally layer with mozzarella cheese or any other preferred pizza cheese.
 

5. Bake pizza according to recommended cooking times suggest for the pizza base used. 


Vegetarian pizza: 
 

1. Get either pre-made pizza base or dough.


2. Assemble the pizza. a)Start off with buttering the pizza base. b) Next layer with tomato based pizza sauce . c) following that layer with araliya seeni sambol, and araliya mango chutney. d) add the boccini cheese and layer with more mozerella shredded cheese. e) finally garnish with some spinach leaves and cut capsicum. f) pour some olive oil at the top of pizza to create a glazed effect. 
 

3. Bake pizza according to recommended cooking times suggest for the pizza base used.
